Summer time, and the living is easy...fish are jumpin and the cotton is high...
On your summer trip to the beach or to the mountains or to Hawaii or to Europe or even just to the local water park, I guarantee you did one thing: you took pictures. Many pictures, in fact. Upwards of 100. 500. 1,000? This summer, my husband has snapped off at least 2,000 photos of our family, more specifically, our son. But why even take these pictures if there is no attempt to display them in a way that allows for enjoyment? This is where Creative Memories comes into my life, and where I know it can fit in to yours.
Creative Memories has streamlined it's catalog to offer both quick solutions that are also imaginative and beautiful, as well as tools to help the crafty scrapbooker create the perfect page. Imagine digital software that allows you to edit your photos and autofill them into predesigned pages for a professional digital photo album. Creative Memories has this product. Imagine photo albums accompanied with beautiful slide-in paper accents that allow you to enhance and journal your experience. Creative Memories offers it. Imagine scrapbooking kits that take the guess work out of color selection, embellishments and layered paper. Check out Creative Memories.
You take pictures for a reason. You snap bites of the moment so that you can reflect and remember. Don't let these memories fade. Celebrate them. Check out Creative Memories at:

Shape Making Tools
I went to a Scrapbooking Techniques class today hoping for the opportunity to pass along my Creative Memories expertise. I was disappointed for a second or two when I realized that the instructor was in fact a Creative Memories consultant! My thunder was stolen before it even began to thunder. The disappointment did not last long, however. Before me sat tables of every shape making tool available through Creative Memories and the pieces of paper needed to create different borders, embellishments, etc.
It was awesome! The two hours flew by as they always do when cropping is involved. We utilized the Paper Tearing Tool, the puzzle piece maker, the heart makers, square makers, circle makers...the list goes on and on. Come to find out, there is a lot more that you can do with a petal maker than just make...well, petals! We used this tool along with the circle to make lemon and lime slices for our Summer Days border. We used hearts upside down and layered as icecream on our icecream cone. While the possibilities were endless, we did only have two hours.
Creativity can run wild with these shape makers. Whether you want fun embellishments or tasteful accents, these tools can assist you and make it easy!

How Tape Runner Saved My Scrapbooking
When I first started my China album, I had few tools that were safe for my photos. Toward the end of the album, I ran out of tools and energy. (That's what happens when you don't have what you need!) And so I secured photos to construction paper (that's right...construction paper) with brown packing tape (that's right...brown packing tape). I didn't realize the damage I was doing...until...I decided to redo the album in a more safe manner. I tore the backing off of photos! It was depressing!
So I moved onto photo mounting squares which are great! Don't get me wrong; there is a place for them. However, it was taking me forever to mount my pictures and I ended up with little square pieces of backing everywhere!
Enter my friend, Creative Memories Tape Runner! Oh the joy of sliding it across photos and quickly, effectively preparing them to mount! It is amazing how much faster I can get pages done and how much cleaner the process is!
Need Tape Runner? Visit: www.mycmsite.com/sararwalls and place an order! I'm here for you for all of your memory preserving needs!

Organize! Organize! Organize!
For some, scrapbooking or organizing photos into albums be they scrapbooks, picfolios or digital albums, can be overwhelming. Some of it is due to the sheer number of photos many of us have sitting around in bins, shoe boxes, drawers or digital folders on our computers.
Regardless of what type of album you wish to create, organization is one of the first steps to getting there. You could start mounting, sliding or inserting pictures willie nillie without regard to order or cohesion. This may be the perfect cup of tea for some, but for others, pulling together a story that flows is important.
So, where do you start? Well, it's going to depend on the type of album. Whether you are formatting a traditional album or a digital album, Creative Memories offers products sure to get you on your way. Looking for a way to organize your printed photos? The Power Sort Box is an excellent way to get started. This fantastic box allows you to compartmentalize and sort your photos in whatever way you would like - by year, by theme, by individual, etc. But that is only one aspect of Creative Memories organization. Taking it one step further, you can use the Creative Memories Power Layout Kit to actually guide you through your page making before you commit by mounting pictures to a page. There are many, many other organizational options including the Power Pallete organizers, Memory Mate Totes, Pockets, etc.
But what if you're a digital album creator? Don't worry! Creative Memories has created Memory Manager to organize images on the computer, journal, enhance photos, and utilize virtual Power Sort and planning guides to help you create albums that can be printed. There is much much more in the land of digital, which I will get to in further blogs, but the goal of this one is to get you started on organization!
Organization does require a bit of time and effort, but the rewards are great when you sit down to begin your album. And, with Creative Memories to guide you, it is an easily obtainable goal. Happy sorting!

Just The Beginning...
I have been a Creative Memories Consultant for 10 days now and I am thrilled to begin this blog as well. I have been a wannabe scrapbooker on and off for years and during that time I didn't have a lot of experience with Creative Memories. Because I knew little about photo safety, I ended up placing precious photos in some precarious situations!
I've spent the past several months working on a scrapbook that captures and memorializes my trip to China in 2002. While I enjoyed doing it, I would have enjoyed it more if I wasn't re-doing it! You see, I had gone out and purchased supplies: A photo album, construction paper, a glue stick, and tape. Regular, invisible tape. And I started piecing together my album! When I ran out of the plain tape, I used brown packing tape.
Sigh.
Those of you who know about scrapbooking understand the HUGE mistake I made. None of these items were safe for my pictures! The past few months, I've been delicately scraping away tape and repositioning my precious memories into a photo safe album.
So that’s the first thing I’d like to mention in this blog. Photos are not indestructible. The acid and lignin found in inks, papers, and other items we use in some albums can destroy our photos, one memory at a time. Creative Memories offers products that are acid and lignin free, important qualities to keep your memories safe.
